5060 Series MMDS Automatic Backup System

The Automatic Backup System (ABS) is designed to operate with a frequency agile transmitter, translator or booster which will automatically or manually back up any one of 31 channels. The ABS is compatible with both analog and digital Axcera products.
Automatic or Manual Backup
In the manual mode the ABS will back up the transmitter that corresponds to the channel entered on the front panel of the frequency agile transmitter. RF output and input signals are automatically switched. In the automatic mode the system senses a main transmitter failure, places it in standby, and enables the frequency agile transmitter to the correct channel. If a transmitter of higher priority later fails, the first channel will be dropped and the higher priority channel will be backed up.

The ABS can be configured for use with baseband or IF input switches and either switchable channel combiners or RF output switches.

Scalable Backup Ratios
Axcera's automatic backup system permits a scalable number of channels to be backed up per agile transmitter. Systems can be configured from 1:1 to 31:1 backup ratio. The modular design allows the system to be expanded for new channels.

Time/Date Stamp System Failures
The Automatic Backup System records the time and date of transmitter failures and tells operators if the backup was successful. Detailed status information is displayed on a backlit liquid crystal display.

Anytime, Anywhere Communication & Backup
With the remote operating systems, operators have real time remote and local control of the ABS and site. Graphic user interfaces operate on the Windows operating system.
